Ingredients

Steps

  1. 1Rinse the apples. Using a corer, hollow out each apple from the top to three-quarters of the depth without piercing the bottom — leaving a pocket for the filling.
  2. 2In a bowl, mix the honey, cinnamon, almonds, walnuts, and raisins. Spoon the mixture into each apple cavity until full, and top each with 1/2 tbsp butter.
  3. 3Place the apples in a baking dish with 1/2 cup water in the bottom (prevents sticking and keeps the apples moist). Bake in a preheated 180°C oven for 25-30 minutes until tender and golden.
  4. 4Spoon the syrupy juices from the bottom of the dish over each apple at serving — it's a natural honey-cinnamon syrup.

Tips

💡Choose firm, slightly tart apples (gala or granny smith) — overly sweet apples turn watery when baked.
💡A spoonful of cold qishta on top of the hot apple at serving turns it into a proper dessert with zero artificial additions.
