Mussels with Garlic

  1. 1In a wide pot, heat the olive oil. Sauté the squeezed onion until soft, then add the garlic paste and stir for 30 seconds.
  2. 2Add the mussels, cover, and steam for 5 minutes until they open.
  3. 3Discard any mussels that didn’t open. Stir in the salt and pepper just before serving. A few drops of lemon at serving brightens the flavor (optional).
